About Us
A warm welcome to our beautiful nursery and preschool, situated in the heart of Kew Village. Here, children thrive in a nurturing environment guided by our child-led ethos.
We welcome children from six months to three years, and have three dedicated groups: one room for babies aged six to 23 months, another space for two year olds, and a separate area for three to four year olds. Our outdoor play area is designed for exploration and adventure, fostering a love of nature and outdoor activities. We believe in the importance of children interacting with peers of different ages, so there will be opportunities for all children to mix at certain times.
Our focus is on communication and language, personal, social, and emotional growth, and physical development. We tailor our teaching to meet the individual needs of each child, ensuring they receive the experiences and support they deserve.
Children here have the freedom to express themselves, and their individuality is embraced and celebrated. We have a variety of fun activities planned, including dance sessions, yoga classes, daily mindfulness exercises, and cooking activities.
Our wonderful team of highly qualified and experienced practitioners create a home-from-home environment where you and your child will feel like part of the Little Kew family.
Our Values
At The Little Kew Nursery, our values form the foundation of everything we do, guiding our interactions, our teaching, and our care. We believe that instilling strong values in children from a young age helps them grow into compassionate, responsible, and well-rounded individuals. Here are the core values that we cherish and promote:
-
We encourage children to be truthful and transparent. By fostering an environment where honesty is valued, we help children build trust and integrity in their relationships with peers and adults.
-
Integrity is about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. We model and teach integrity, helping children understand the importance of making ethical decisions and standing by their principles.
-
We believe in teaching children to appreciate what they have and to express thankfulness. By fostering a sense of gratitude, we help children develop a positive outlook and recognize the kindness and generosity of others.
-
Taking responsibility for one's actions is a crucial life skill. We encourage children to own their choices and understand the consequences of their actions, fostering a sense of accountability and self-discipline.
-
A positive attitude can transform challenges into opportunities. We create a joyful and optimistic environment where children feel empowered to tackle difficulties with confidence and enthusiasm.
-
Respect for oneself and others is a cornerstone of our community. We teach children to value diversity, listen to others, and show consideration for different perspectives and experiences.
-
We believe in the value of effort and perseverance. By encouraging children to work diligently and persistently, we help them develop resilience and a strong work ethic that will benefit them throughout their lives.
-
Understanding and sharing the feelings of others is essential for building strong, supportive relationships. We nurture empathy in children by encouraging them to consider how others feel and to respond with kindness and compassion.
-
Compassion involves caring deeply about others and acting to alleviate their suffering. We model compassionate behavior and create opportunities for children to practice kindness and support their peers.
-
Fairness is about treating everyone equally and justly. We teach children to recognize the importance of fairness, to play by the rules, and to consider the needs and rights of others in their actions.
-
We encourage children to be responsible for their actions and belongings. This value helps them develop a sense of duty and reliability, preparing them for future responsibilities in school and beyond.
